Andrew Bosworth, Meta’s Chief Technology Officer, made a surprising switch from Tesla to Mercedes, opting for the luxurious Mercedes AMG EQS. In a recent podcast chat, Bosworth, who isn’t much of a car enthusiast, expressed his delight in his new ride, praising its top-notch features.
Bosworth’s decision to trade in his Tesla came after an undisclosed incident while it was parked. Although he didn’t elaborate, it led him to seek a replacement that matched his desire for quality. Bosworth, who typically drove used cars prone to breaking down, including a Honda Accord and a decade with a Tesla Model S, expressed amazement at the Mercedes‘ allure.
With a hefty price tag of $147,550, the Mercedes AMG EQS isn’t cheap. However, for Bosworth, it signifies a leap towards luxury and tech advancement. While Teslas have their appeal, Bosworth found himself drawn to the Mercedes’ opulent features and sleek design, making it a worthwhile investment.
“It is the best augmented-reality product I think you could buy in the market today,” Bosworth said.
What truly wowed Bosworth about the Mercedes AMG EQS was its state-of-the-art technology, particularly its augmented reality features. Bosworth hailed the car’s tech tools, highlighting the head-up display and surround-view camera system as standouts.
“The 3D camera used when making turns is a game-changer,” Bosworth exclaimed. He emphasized how seamlessly augmented reality integrates into the driving experience, providing real-time information about potential obstacles.
As Bosworth embarks on his journey with the Mercedes AMG EQS, his choice underscores not just a preference for luxury and innovation, but also a broader embrace of electric vehicles.
