Google announced groundbreaking enhancements to its Bard AI platform. The tech giant revealed that Bard can now harness the power of Gemini Pro, Google’s latest multimodal AI model, across all languages and territories where Bard is currently available.
This development marks a significant improvement in Bard’s capabilities, with Gemini Pro providing advanced understanding, reasoning, summarization, and coding abilities in multiple languages. Previously, Gemini Pro was only integrated into Bard for English.
One of the most exciting features introduced is Bard’s newfound ability to generate images. This feature, powered by Google’s cutting-edge Imagen 2 model, is now available in English across most countries globally and is free. Users can quickly bring their ideas to life by inputting a description into Bard’s text box and receiving custom visuals with high-quality, photorealistic outputs. Bard utilizes SynthID to embed digitally identifiable watermarks into generated images to ensure authenticity.
Users can now cross-verify Bard’s responses by clicking on the G icon, initiating a Google search in over 40 languages. Bard will analyze web content to validate its responses, providing users with highlighted phrases and additional information about supporting or contradicting information from Google searches.

According to the Large Model Systems Organization, a leading evaluator of language models and chatbots, Bard with Gemini Pro is hailed as “one of the most preferred chatbots available.” Google’s third-party raters recognized Bard with Gemini Pro as “one of the top-performing conversational AIs, compared to leading free and paid alternatives.”
In a bid to compete with ChatGPT Plus, Google’s Bard has caught up in terms of AI image generation. Users can prompt Bard to generate photos using Google’s Imagen 2 text-to-image model, a feature previously available only in ChatGPT Plus. However, unlike ChatGPT Plus, Bard with Imagen 2 remains free for users.

AI image generation has faced recent scrutiny due to the proliferation of fake explicit photos flooding specific platforms. In response, Google emphasized that Bard’s image capability was “designed with responsibility in mind.” The platform incorporates watermarking to indicate AI-generated images and implements safety measures to prevent the generation of inappropriate content.
In addition to these advancements, Bard is expanding its language support to over 40 languages in more than 230 countries, a significant increase from its previous availability in only 170 countries and English language support. Google has also extended the double-check feature to 40 languages, enabling users to evaluate responses by automatically searching the internet to support or contradict content.
As Google continues to push the boundaries of AI technology, Bard stands as a formidable competitor in the chatbot landscape, offering users innovative and responsible AI experiences.
