Tesla has introduced a new model in China called the Model Y. Not many changes have been made, just a few differences, such as LED strips, wheel changes, and faster acceleration.
Tesla also announced the Tesla Model Y RWD launch in the US at a lower price point.
However, the rest of the exterior remains the same. While everyone is focused on the new Model 3, Tesla has quietly launched this updated Model Y from Gigafactory Shanghai.
The update includes adding the LED strip around the dashboard, first seen in the recently refreshed Model 3.
If you look at its interior, there haven’t been too many changes made. However, they have added an LED strip around the dashboard, which gives it a great look.
But the screen in the image remains the same; it hasn’t been changed. The display installed for the back seat in the previous model has been removed.
There are some slight changes in the specifications as well. Take the base model, for instance, which now boasts a range of 554 kilometers, up from the previous 545 kilometers, and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds, a noticeable improvement from the previous 6.9 seconds.
Meanwhile, the long-range variant now offers a maximum range of 688 kilometers, significantly increasing from the previous 600 kilometers.
Interestingly, despite these enhancements, the pricing has remained consistent, with the Model Y still starting at 263,900 yuan, which equates to $36,743.

Tesla has yet to reveal the updated Model Y; similarly, there hasn’t been any announcement regarding the Model 3 in the United States. Below, you’ll find some cropped images extracted from Tesla’s WeChat post that introduced the revised car:
