Were you aware that a solar eclipse is happening on the 14th of October? Rolls-Royce certainly was, and they’ve chosen to celebrate this event by preparing 25 incredibly unique versions of the already exclusive Black Badge Ghost, which they’ve named the ‘Ékleipsis Private Collection.’
Rolls-Royce has noticed that many people like their Black Badge cars. So, they’ve decided to make a special, limited edition of the Ghost called the Ékleipsis Private Collection. This fancy car has some design touches inspired by astrology, both inside and the outside.
Rolls-Royce goes all out with their cars. Take the Black Badge Ghost Ékleipsis Private Collection, for example. There will only be 25 of these, all already spoken for. The drama and mystery of a solar eclipse inspire this car.
While some other car makers might change the color or tweak the interior slightly, Rolls-Royce went above and beyond with the Ékleipsis.
Rolls-Royce Ghost Ekleipsis Exterior
The Ékleipsis is a car that pays tribute to a solar eclipse (the kind that happens in the sky, not the one made by Mitsubishi). It starts with a car called the Ghost Black Badge, but this one is special.
It’s painted in a unique color called Lyrical Copper, meant to capture the magical, soft light you see during a solar eclipse. The car also has orange accents outside and brake parts to stand out. And that fine line that goes from the front to the back of the vehicle? People paint that by hand!
If you look at its exterior, it has a highly luxurious appearance. Looking at it from the front, there aren’t many changes, but it’s given a beautiful black look, which is quite attractive.
Rolls-Royce headlights are famous for their top-notch quality, long-lasting build, and luxurious design. They’re crafted using the best materials and skilled workmanship, all to offer drivers the highest visibility and safety.
If you look at it from the back, there’s a yellow line that represents the Ékleipsis, and in the front, they’ve used yellow beneath the headlights, adding even more charm to its beauty.
Rolls-Royce Ghost Ekleipsis Interior
Inside Rolls-Royce Ghost Ekleipsis, there’s something cool. It has Rolls-Royce’s special Starlight headliner, and it does something neat. When you shut the car doors and start the engine, the “stars” in the headliner get dimmer, creating a circle with 940 of these “stars.”
In the background, you’ll find 192 more “stars.” It’s like watching a total solar eclipse, and it lasts for seven minutes and 31 seconds, just as long as the longest actual eclipse. Then, when it’s done, the regular Starlight headliner comes back.
If we talk about its interior, its seats are something special. Rolls-Royce seats are famous for being very luxurious, comfortable, and well-crafted.
They are made from incredibly soft, high-quality leather with a premium look. The carpet inside is black and highly pale; even without shoes in the car, it will feel very comfortable.
Also, these seats are adjustable and have features like heating and cooling to keep you comfortable. Plus, they can even give you a nice massage!
Rolls-Royce went even further. They’ve added a traditional clock on the dashboard, and here’s the unique part: it’s got a bezel with a shiny 0.5-carat diamond in it.
This is their first time using a precious gem in their clocks. The seats are covered in two-tone leather with over 200,000 tiny holes. They also provide umbrellas with orange accents, and you get a car cover as part of the standard features.
If you look at the rims of this car, they have a very sporty design, which gives it a fantastic look. It appears as if blocks have been perfectly fitted into the rim’s center. Additionally, there’s the Rolls-Royce logo in the middle of the edge, adding a charming touch to its appearance.
Rolls-Royce CEO Torsten Muller-Otvos mentioned, “The Rolls-Royce Black Badge Ghost Ékleipsis takes inspiration from the rare and captivating event of a total solar eclipse. This reflects the exclusivity and beauty of Rolls-Royce Private Collections. We are extremely proud to offer these cars to 25 of our most important customers worldwide. It’s these customers who inspire us to keep pushing the boundaries of modern luxury.”
They’ve timed the launch of these cars to coincide with a solar eclipse that’ll be visible in parts of the Western Hemisphere tomorrow.
Let’s hope the new animated starlight headliner in the car doesn’t outshine the eclipse!
Ghost price
The Rolls-Royce Black Badge Ghost Ékleipsis Private Collection will only have 25 units made worldwide. They haven’t revealed the price, but it doesn’t matter because they were sold out even before officially showing it to the public. So, it’s too late if you have to ask about the price!
