A sneak peek into Apple’s upcoming 2024 iPhone lineup! MacRumors has gotten some exclusive information about the prototypes of the Pro devices, and we’ve created mockups based on Apple’s internal designs. These mockups give us the most precise look yet at what we can expect from the next-generation iPhones.
More giant Screens and a New Button Design
The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are building on the success of the iPhone 15 Pro. They will feature larger displays – 6.3 inches for the Pro and 6.9 inches for the Pro Max. This increase is due to the introduction of the 5x tetraprism Telephoto camera, available on both Pro models this year. Unlike the iPhone 15 lineup, where only the Pro Max had this camera, both iPhone 16 Pro models will have it

While the overall design remains consistent, Apple has tried different button configurations during development. The final design is similar to the iPhone 15 Pro but with an extra button on the phone’s right side.
Versatile Action Button and All-New Capture Button
Both Pro models in the iPhone 16 range will have a multi-purpose Action button on the left, similar to the iPhone 15 Pro. This button can be customized to perform different functions based on user preference. Apple experimented with a larger capacitive button design called “Atlas,” but it seems they might go with a standard mechanical Action button.
On the right side, the iPhone 16 Pro models will feature a new Capture button, developed under the codename “Nova.” It’s a capacitive-type button with force-sensor functionality and will be used for capturing videos. The Capture button replaces the mmWave antenna, which has been moved from the right side to the left side for U.S. models.

Premium Materials and Colors
The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max will continue to use Grade 5 Titanium (Ti-6Al-4V), maintaining the premium feel of the iPhone 15 Pro. The prototypes showcase a “Silver” color, marketed as “White Titanium,” with hints of a potential new color option.
While our mockups give a clear picture of the current design, it’s essential to remember that the devices are still in the early stages of development. Apple might make further tweaks before the final release.
