In March, Motorola unveiled the G13, and not long after, they also released the standard Edge model, coinciding with the announcement of the Google Pixel 8.
Earlier this year, Motorola rolled out the newest iteration of the Edge+, a surprisingly remarkable gadget that played the role of an unexpected competitor in the US smartphone scene for this year.
We’re anticipating the arrival of the Motorola Edge (2023), but it’s worth noting that it’s not on par with the Edge+.
Design and Display Of Motorola Edge 2023
The Motorola Edge (2023) focuses on its impressive 6.6-inch pOLED screen, which features a high 144Hz refresh rate, can display 10-bit colours, and supports HDR10+. This screen is further enhanced with a speedy 360Hz touch sampling rate and can reach an impressive peak brightness of 1,200 nits.
Furthermore, this phone has a fingerprint reader under the screen to unlock it with your fingerprint. It also has a small hole in the middle of the screen for the front camera.
The Motorola Edge (2023) edges are made of aluminum that’s been given a textured finish, and the back is made of soft, fake leather material.
Internals and Software
The Dimensity 7030 chip powers the Motorola Edge (2023), and it comes in just one setup with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Unfortunately, there’s no slot for adding more storage with a memory card.
This phone runs on Android 13, but we don’t know how long it will receive software updates.
Camera of Motorala 2023
The cameras on this phone are a bit of a mystery. Motorola isn’t famous for its camera quality, but when we tried the Edge+, we were somewhat impressed by what they did.
The primary camera is 50MP and has a wide aperture, so it should be suitable for low-light photos if the processing is done correctly.
A 13MP wide-angle camera can do close-up shots, and a 32MP selfie camera on the front.
Performance and battery life
This phone isn’t trying to be a superstar, but it’s solidly in the midrange category. It’s not competing with the top phones from Samsung, Google, or Apple.
However, there are some good things about it, like the big 4,400mAh battery and the quick 68W TurboPower charging, a Motorola signature feature.

As it always is, one crucial factor to remember is the updated policy. Motorola plans to provide this phone with just two major Android OS updates and three years of security updates every two months.
In comparison, the Pixel 7/7a and Galaxy S23 FE are set to receive support for five years, while the Pixel 8 goes above and beyond with a whopping seven years of support, including OS upgrades and more.
