Geely has revealed Zeekr 9X, a powerful six-seater plug-in hybrid SUV with an incredible 1,381 horsepower, a combined range of over 621 miles, and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.1 seconds.
Set for launch in China’s third quarter of 2025, the Zeekr 9X is Geely’s eighth model and the first built on the SEA-S modular platform. The 9X is designed to appeal to buyers looking for a luxurious, family-friendly SUV with advanced hybrid technology.
During the official unveiling, Zeekr’s spokesperson proudly said, “We designed the 9X to combine extreme performance, quick charging, and premium comfort. It is our vision of what the future of hybrid SUVs should look like.”
The 9X’s powertrain is its most impressive features. It combines a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine producing 275 horsepower with three advanced electric motors. Together, they deliver a massive 1,381 horsepower, which Zeekr claims is equivalent to the power of three V12 gasoline engines. This allows the SUV to reach a top speed of 149 mph and sprint to 100 km/h in just over three seconds.
The hybrid system is part of Zeekr’s Haohan Hybrid technology. With a thermal efficiency of more than 46%, it ensures a balance of performance and fuel economy, making it ideal for long-distance journeys as well as daily drives.
The SUV’s 70 kWh CATL Freevoy battery also stands out as one of the largest ever fitted to a passenger plug-in hybrid. With a 900V system and 6C charging capability, it can charge from 20% to 80% in only nine minutes. Zeekr showed that this speed surpasses 99% of battery electric vehicles currently available worldwide.

For daily commutes, the Zeekr 9X offers an electric-only range of 236 miles under CLTC conditions. This means most drivers can rely on electric power alone for their routine trips without needing to use the petrol engine.
“This battery system is a game changer. It’s not just fast; it’s smarter and more efficient, giving our customers more freedom and confidence,” said an engineer from Zeekr.
The Zeekr 9X blends strength and elegance. Measuring 5,239 mm in length, 2,029 mm in width, and 1,819 mm in height, it commands road presence. The SUV’s body is made of 91% high-strength steel and aluminum, delivering excellent durability and a torsional rigidity of 30,700 lb-ft per degree.
Its advanced suspension system adapts to different terrains automatically. Drivers can switch between off-road modes like snow, mud, sand, and rocks, while the AI-powered suspension helps maintain stability on bumpy roads. The 48V active stabilizer bar further reduces body roll when taking sharp corners.

The interior of the Zeekr 9X is equally impressive. It features a 2+2+2 layout. The second-row captain chairs come with electric leg rests. They also include a zero-gravity mode for ultimate comfort. Additionally, the front seats have integrated speakers in the headrests. This creates an immersive sound experience for all passengers.
The center console offers a large floating touchscreen. Moreover, it pairs with physical buttons for easy access. You will also find two wireless charging pads. Wooden trim details add a touch of luxury. Furthermore, Zeekr replaced traditional door handles with sleek buttons. These buttons are placed directly on the door panels. As a result, the interior looks futuristic and clean.
The Zeekr 9X also includes the G-Pilot H9 driver assistance system. It has five LiDAR sensors. It also uses two Nvidia Drive Thor chips. Together, they deliver 1400 TOPS of computing power. Therefore, the SUV supports Level 3 autonomous driving. This means the vehicle can handle certain driving tasks independently. However, the driver must remain attentive at all times.
For entry-level variants, Zeekr offers the G-Pilot H7 system. It uses a single Nvidia chip. It delivers 700 TOPS of computing power. During the reveal, a Zeekr official commented, “Our autonomous driving technology is designed to make journeys safer and more relaxing. It represents the future of mobility.”
The Zeekr 9X will begin presales at the Chengdu Auto Show in late August 2025. Deliveries are expected later that same year. Zeekr‘s CEO added at the end of the presentation, “The 9X is not just another SUV. It’s a statement about the future of driving. We believe it will set a new benchmark for the industry.”
