In just three years, Xiaomi has gone from building mobile phones to producing electric cars at an incredible speed. Its new electric vehicle, the Xiaomi SU7, is being made so quickly that the factory builds one every 76 seconds.

Reports from China say that the first round of ticket registration attracted over 4,600 people. However, with only 20 people allowed per session, many were left disappointed.

The factory is capable of producing about 20,000 vehicles each month, thanks to its advanced automation. Xiaomi’s entry into the EV market has been a major success. When the company launched the SU7 Ultra model, it received over 10,000 pre-orders in just two hours. That huge demand has led Xiaomi to build a second factory, which is expected to start production in July or August this year. Once the second factory is running, Xiaomi will have the ability to produce up to 350,000 vehicles per year.
