Tesla has announced the release of a new auto parking system designed specifically for its latest vehicles that rely solely on cameras for guidance. This update comes after Tesla stopped using ultrasonic sensors in its cars back in 2022. Since then, Tesla cars have lacked auto-parking features, but the wait seems to be over now.

For the past two years, Tesla vehicles have been without auto parking due to the absence of ultrasonic sensors. However, the company is finally rolling out an updated version of its auto parking system for its newer camera-based vehicles. This development brings relief to many Tesla owners who have been eagerly awaiting this feature.

The new auto parking feature looks different from the previous version found in Tesla vehicles with ultrasonic sensors. Parking spots are highlighted differently on the car’s screen, making it easier for drivers to select their preferred spot.

Tesla’s ultimate goal is to achieve fully autonomous driving using only cameras and advanced neural network technology. This update represents a step in that direction. In the future, Tesla plans to introduce a feature called “Tap to Park,” which would allow drivers to select a parking spot and let the car park itself autonomously.

The software update seems to be available only to Tesla employees for now, as reported by the website Not a Tesla App. However, it brings significant improvements to the automated parking system. A video shared on X, previously known as Twitter, demonstrates one user trying out the user-friendly and smooth software.
