When it comes to high-end keyboards, Corsair is the first name that comes to my mind. They’ve been top of their game for a long as I can remember! Now they’re back again with the Corsair K100 AIR Wireless Mechanical Gaming Keyboard! The K100 AIR combines state-of-the-art gaming performance and everyday productivity, but most interestingly of all, it features an unbelievably thin design.

I’m not usually one to say such things, but hot damn, Corsair just dropped one of the hottest-looking ultra-thin keyboards I’ve ever seen. The K100 Air(opens in new tab) has just been announced and it’s a beautiful-looking piece of kit with a brushed aluminium frame and ultra-low profile keys. This might be the most stylish keyboard we’ve seen released all year, and it looks like it’ll fit the bill for PC gaming and typing.

The K100 AIR is CORSAIR’s thinnest gaming keyboard, measuring just 11 mm at the slimmest point of its elegant brushed aluminium frame. While I admit this isn’t going to be to everyone’s taste, I do love a slim keyboard! However, the fact this is a true mechanical keyboard, thanks to the Tactile CHERRY MX Ultra Low Profile mechanical keyswitches, is even more impressive. These new switches have a 0.8 mm actuation.

Slipstream Wireless

To complement its thin design, the K100 AIR offers versatile and agile wireless connectivity options on a host of devices. Effortlessly switch between hyper-fast SLIPSTREAM WIRELESS and low-latency Bluetooth on up to three devices at the press of a key, for masterful multi-tasking protected by AES 128-bit encryption.

The keyboard’s long-lasting battery grants 50 hours of life with RGB backlighting turned on, or up to 200 hours with backlighting off, so you can play for days.

USB Wired

USB wired mode on PC and Mac enables 8,000 Hz hyper-polling, powered by CORSAIR AXON Hyper-Processing Technology.

which nicely illuminates the title of each key. It sounds like Corsair has gone pretty hard with the options here, stating there are 20 complex hardware RGB lighting layers working at once, though it’s hard to know exactly what that means.

Sounds like there’ll be plenty of customisation for those willing to sacrifice the battery life to get it. With the lights on, Corsair promises up to 50 hours of battery life, or you can turn them off to get up to 200 hours.

Price and Availability

The K100 Air is available now from the CORSAIR webstore and distributors worldwide. Priced at an MSRP of $279.99.
