A 14-year-old student from Frisco, Texas, has created a mobile app that could diagnose heart diseases in seconds. Siddarth Nandyala has developed an app called Circadian AI, which can detect early signs of heart problems in just seven seconds. His app uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to listen to heart sounds and provide fast results.
Siddarth said, “What Circadian AI essentially is, is an automated tool that just with 7 seconds of heart sound recording, can give you a detailed synopsis of whether your heart has any abnormalities or whether you have a healthy heart.”
He added, “You just need to place it near the heart, record for 7 seconds, and it gives a diagnostic. It can detect over 40 types of cardiovascular diseases.”
This simple and fast method could make it easier for medical professionals to screen patients, especially in places where access to advanced medical tools is limited.
Circadian AI has already been tested in clinical trials with more than 18,500 patients from both the United States and India. It showed over 96 percent accuracy in detecting various heart problems. Siddarth worked with hospitals and medical experts, collecting heart sound data and improving the app’s ability to recognize signs of disease.
The trials included government hospitals in Andhra Pradesh, India. At Guntur Government General Hospital, the app screened 505 people and found 10 with heart issues. Another test at the same hospital, screened 863 people and detected 16 heart problems. In Vijayawada, the app examined 992 individuals and identified 19 with potential cardiovascular conditions.

Dr. Jameel Ahmed, an electrophysiologist from Louisiana State University, said, “An early potential diagnosis in patients who otherwise may not have had access to medical care may ultimately reduce long-term morbidity and mortality from this condition.”
Although the app is designed to be easy to use, it is currently meant for use by trained medical staff in clinics or hospitals. Siddarth has explained that Circadian AI is a screening tool and should not replace full tests like electrocardiograms (ECGs). The idea is to help identify possible heart problems quickly so patients can receive proper treatment sooner.
Circadian AI is only the beginning of Siddarth’s journey in the medical technology field. He is now working on using similar AI technology to detect lung diseases such as pneumonia and pulmonary embolism. By analyzing breathing sounds the way Circadian AI listens to heartbeats, Siddarth hopes to give doctors more tools to help patients quickly and affordably.

Siddarth said his main goal is not just to make the most advanced diagnostic tools but to make them accessible and useful to everyone. He wants to help doctors and nurses, especially in rural or underdeveloped areas, detect diseases early and save lives.
Heart disease is the world’s leading cause of death, responsible for around 32 percent of all deaths globally. Siddarth’s Circadian AI could play an important role in lowering those numbers, especially in parts of the world where access to heart care is limited or too expensive.
