The T-flip flop is also known as Toggle Flip flop. It is used to avoid an intermediate state in SR-flip flop, and it’s essential to give one input to the simple circuit , which is also known as a trigger, or toggle input (T).
It works the same as a toggle switch, which changes the next state output to make the present state output to complement form.
The most basic type of it is T . The simple flip flop is used to store information. These both are known to be the building blocks of electronics without them, electronics is nothing. It obtains its value from counter design and in sequential circuits design where switching operation is necessary.

To design, it should be noted that only a small adjustment to the Jk-flip flop is required.
It has only a single input so by connecting J and K inputs and giving single information to T , , the JK flip flop can be converted into T form. It is also known as a single input JK-flip flop.

It can be constructed by the following different methods.
The SR-flip-flop, connect the output of the feedback terminal to the input.
The D-flip-flop, Connect the XOR of Q previous output to the data line and T input.
In JK-flip flop, the J and K input is connected to T input.
Construction t flip flop:
For the construction it , some AND gates are required, which would work as the input to the NOR gate SR latch.
The input of the AND gate is connected back with the present state Q output and its Q’ complement to each AND gate.
An input (T) toggle which is connected commonly to both the AND gates.
The clock (CLK) signal which is common with the AND gates.
A pulse Train of Thin Triggers which are given to the (T) input that can generate the change into output state.
So as previously describe these flip-flops are known as Toggle flip flops. The circuit diagram of it, which is made from SR latch is shown below in the figure.
Furthermore, by adjusting a D-flip flop, it can be easily constructed.
The Output of Q’Prev which is XORed with the input T that is provided to the D input in D-flip flop.

One of the easiest ways of constructing a D-flip-flop is with JK-flip flop. The input of J and K flip flop is attached which is provided with the input T. The circuit diagram of it, which is made from JK is shown below.
Working of T-flip-flop:
As the T-flip flop characteristic equation works on the low to high or high to low transitions of a signal clock of thin or triggers, is provided due to which the input will produce the change in output state of flip-flop due to this characteristic , it is also known as an edge-triggered device.

As it is discussed lately that the it is also known as an edge trigger device. Consider an example of it is made up of NAND SR latch as shown below.
- The next stage will be =1 if T=1 and present state =0.
- The next state will be=0 if T=1 and present state=0.
The set and reset input toggles as the incoming trigger changes Alternately.
It needs two triggers to complete one full cycle of the output waveform.
So it means that it provides the output which contains half of the frequency of input frequency.
So it means that the it will have a “frequency divider” circuit.
One of the most important and well-known disadvantages of it is that the state of the flip flop at an applied trigger pulse which is also known when the previous state is understood.
It should be noted that they are not available in the form of ICS.
So they can easily be constructed from SR-flip flop, D-flip flop and JK-flip flop.
