Qualcomm may soon launch a new 6-series chipset, the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1. It will be the company’s fourth offering with the new naming convention introduced last year. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, and Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 are the other three.
While there haven’t been many rumors about Snapdragon 6 Gen 1, the ever-reliable leaker Evan Blass has shared the complete specs sheet for the unannounced chipset. It appears to be a slide or screenshot from Qualcomm’s official press material. This indicates an imminent launch, though there’s no word from the company yet.
Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 Revealed
The Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 will be a 4nm chipset identified by part number SM6450. It will boast Kyro CPU cores clocked at up to 2.2 GHz. The chipset features Adreno GPU with support for Vulkan 1.1 API, HDR Gaming, and HLG playback codec. Qualcomm is offering LPDDR5 RAM support with up to 12GB capacity. It supports USB version 3.1.

This chipset boasts Qualcomm’s FastConnect 6700 system with Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 standards. The company mentions support for MIMO (multiple input, multiple output) uplinks and downlinks, 4K QAM modulation, and a peak speed of 2.9 Gbps. The Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 features the company’s QuickCharge 4+ technology and dual-frequency navigation system. It also boasts Qualcomm’s Audio and Voice Communication Suite.
The Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 supports both mmWave and Sub-6 GHz 5G flavors. Qualcomm claims up to 2.9 Gbps downlink speed with support for SA (standalone) and NSA (non-standalone) architectures, dynamic spectrum sharing, global 5G multi-SIM, and carrier aggregation.
This year’s Snapdragon Summit is scheduled for mid-November
Qualcomm has already announced the dates for this year’s Snapdragon Summit. The event will take place in Hawaii between November 15-17. The company will likely unveil the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 flagship processor at the event. While it seems a good stage for the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1’s debut too, the latest leak suggests the latter may not remain unofficial for much longer. We will let you know once we have more information about its unveiling. In the meantime, you can check out the detailed specs of the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 in the image attached below.
