It was a hectic week for OnePlus users across the globe. It was a busy week for OnePlus fans as its flagship phone for 2022 – The OnePlus 10 Pro, has finally gone on sale. With OnePlus having completed its biggest launch this year, the company can focus its attention on the other products in its portfolio, including the middle-priced Nord series. We’ve heard lots of talk about a new smartphone dubbed the OnePlus CE 2 Lite during the past few weeks.

The folks from 91Mobiles were first to discuss the phone that was supposed to be a less-saturated version that was a smaller version of the OnePlus Nord CE 2 launched just a few weeks ago in select markets across the world.

Today, we’ve got some more information about the Nord CE 2 Lite due to the well-known leaker Yogesh Brar, who posted the alleged specs of the device via his Twitter account. Most importantly, Yogesh also posted the first-ever rendering of the phone, which he claims to be that of the Nord CE 2 Lite.

The image posted by Yogesh shows a handset that is quite different from the one shared by 91Mobiles a few weeks ago. The latest images show the phone that shares design elements similar to OnePlus Nord CE 2. However, if you look closer, it is evident that the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite has a striking resemblance to that of the Realme 9 Pro. You’ll realize that the similarity doesn’t mean only exclusive only to the language of design. It extends to the majority of the hardware specifications -but with a few notable variations.

After carefully reviewing the claimed specs for the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite, it appears that the sole distinctions among those between the Nord CE 2 Lite and the Realme 9 Pro are the following:

  • Its OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite does not have an ultra-wide-angle camera but uses two sensors of 2MP for macros and depth.
  • The Nord CE2 Lite is running OxygenOS rather than Realme UI.
  • The colours available for both phones are likely to differ.

For the rest of the specifications, Yogesh claims the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite will have a 6.58-inch IPS LCD panel compatible with FHDplus resolution. Similar to its predecessor, the Realme 9 Pro, it will likely use a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 processor, which has a capacity of 128GB storage. This OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite may be available in 8GB and 6GB RAM variants.

The primary camera of 64MP in the Realme 9 Pro is carried onto the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite, and what’s not carried over is the 8MP ultrawide camera. On the front, there may be a possibility that OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite could have the same 16MP camera as the Realme 9 Pro. However, that’s not yet observed.

It is expected to be the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite is expected to come with a capacity of 5,000 mAh and will be able to charge fast at 33W, similar to that of the Realme 9 Pro. As we mentioned in our earlier review of the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite, it will not come with OnePlus the traditional alert slider. Apart from having an on-side mounted fingerprint scanner, previously reported reports have discussed the possibility of OnePlus conserving the 3.5mm audio port on the phone that is coming.
