Microsoft’s Xbox Cloud Gaming service has cloud gaming at its core. However, the company is also working with other streaming services to make it work with the Edge browser.

Microsoft’s Clarity boost was first announced in November 2013. However, we heard about the streaming aider this month. Microsoft had announced that the feature would soon be available in its Edge browsers, and Bleeping Computer reports that it is already being rolled out to all users.

Microsoft’s Clarity Boost feature sharpens streamed games to give the image a better quality. However, some data may be lost during streaming. This feature is likely to compensate. It’s a filter that sharpens and scales images, similar to LifeWire’s test results for comparing Clarity Boost and unclarity Boost games.

Although Microsoft presents examples of Clarity Boost performing a great job, that could only be true for some situations. However, those tests show that it can vary from one game to the next. Therefore, it might be worth switching this option if you notice that things need to be fixed when streaming to Edge.

Microsoft also promotes Edge Efficiency Mode, which will further improve gaming performance. It reduces the number of browser processes running while you’re playing, which is brilliant, considering there may be a lot more going on behind the scenes when streaming a video. Although it’s been around for some time, the two should be able to work together to provide more power for streamed games.

This is all Microsoft so that the Edge features will work best with the Xbox Cloud Gaming. These are streaming improvements, so there should be benefits across other services, such as Nvidia’s GeForce Now. Microsoft Edge may not be the best browser for all tasks, but it is working hard to become the browser of choice for game streaming.
