Intel Core i9 CPU trumps AMD Ryzen 9 5950X

The benchmark was shared from Seby9123 via Reddit via¬†Seby9123¬†and is lauded within¬†Tom’s Hardware; the processor has the fastest boost clock speeds that vary from 5.5Ghz, its performance and efficiency cores can run at rates ranging from 5.2GHz and 4.0GHz.

According to the leak of Cinebench results, the Core i9-12900KS scores 2162 points in single-core tests and 29,164 for multi-core tests. This isn’t just because it’s a step up from its previous model, the i9-12900K, but also because it has a ring for AMD’s Ryzen 9 5950X chip. It’s not a big surprise, especially since Intel Core i9 new flagship model has been designed to compete against the upcoming Ryzen 7 5800X3D. But being 29.6 per cent more efficient than the 5950X boosts the odds of being crowned the best gaming processor.

Seby’s early tests also contain the CPU-Z data, which indicates that the processor comes with a TDP that is 150W. The increase is 25W over i9-12900K. While the power consumption increase isn’t significant, it will put more tension on your power supply when used with a brand new Nvidia GPU, mainly since it is the GeForce the RTX4090, which is reported to consume 600W.

Intel’s claim of being “the first” CPU may not be secured. However, AMD’s offerings don’t seem to be keeping pace. Recent tests show that AMD’s Ryzen 9 6900HX mobile processor is 32 per cent more efficient than its i9-12900H counterpart, which offers AMD its Blue Team an advantage in this Gaming laptop sector. However, AMD says its next-gen Ryzen 7 5800X3D processor will be “the world’s fastest” CPU. This means that Intel Core i9 may be in for a surprise when it arrives on the market.
