Although small Android flagships are becoming rare, at least one company is still making them. The Asus Zenfone 9 leaked this week. It shows off the small smartphone in all its glory.
The Asus Zenfone 8 was the only Android smartphone that came in small sizes last year. It had a 5.9-inch screen and featured the same core processor as all other smartphones.
The Asus Zenfone 9 will soon follow the same pattern. Teaching found a video by ASUS, which has since been removed. The video features the Zenfone 9 in its new design and details the specifications of the forthcoming device.
The video shows that the Zenfone 9 will have the same compact display size as the Zenfone 8. It measures 5.9 inches. It features a hole-punched selfie camera and an AMOLED panel that refreshes at 120Hz.
This is going to be a flagship phone. The device’s core is the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 – which is even more powerful than Samsung’s Galaxy S22 range. The phone’s 4,300 mAh battery provides endurance and an IP68 water resistance rating. Asus states that the sensor is connected to a “gimbal Module” for stabilization.
A side-mounted fingerprint sensor and dual stereo speakers are on the power button. The phone has a headphone jack which is a departure from the trend of taking out the audio port on most Android flagships in recent years. The phone has four color options: black, white, and blue.
