Logitech is reprising its best-selling gaming mouse today with the launch of the G502 X, the newest versions of the G502. There are three new models of the mouse including the G502 X, the G502 X Lightspeed, and the G502 X Plus.
The standard G502 X sticks to a wired configuration while the Lightspeed and Plus models are both wireless. They also work with the Powerplay technology to stay charged up while in use. Provided you have the Powerplay mat.
There are upgrades across the board here. But one of the biggest improvements is the new, lighter build for the G502 X.
Logitech is using a lighter scroll wheel in addition to a thin-wall exoskeleton to reduce the weight. Bringing it down to just 89 grams. All three models also come with a dual-mode scroll wheel, and an adjustable DPI shift button that you can reverse for closer placement to your thumb.
The Logitech G502 X comes with new hybrid switches
Another big upgrade with these new mice are the Lightforce Switches. These are a hybrid design of optical and mechanical which Logitech says provides higher speed and better reliability. The optical actuation handles the increased speeds, while the mechanical actuation keeps the tactile feedback you may be used to.
For the wireless models, the Lightspeed technology is new and improved too. And it also gets a speed boost with a 68% increase in speed compared to previous versions of the Lightspeed tech. The Logitech G502 X, G502 X Lightspeed, and G502 X Plus all come in black and white colorways. And while the latter two are mostly identical, the G502 X Plus comes with RGB lighting as an extra aesthetic kicker.
Logitech has made a handful of useful improvements but not everything has been updated. Which is a good thing. The G502 X Lightspeed and the G502 X Plus both Feature the same interchangeable weight system as the G502 Lightspeed. So you can adjust the weights to increase or decrease the weight to your personal tastes.
All three mice are available for pre-order starting today. The Logitech G502 X retails for $79.99, the G502 X Lightspeed retails for $139.99, and the G502 X Plus retails for $159.99.
