Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, SpaceX, Neuralink, and The Boring Company, has announced plans to raise child benefits at his companies as part of his strategy to address what he refers to as the “underpopulation crisis.” In a tweet, Musk stated that “kids are worth it if at all possible” and intends to “raise the benefits of childcare at my company dramatically.” He also encouraged other companies to follow suit.
Kids are worth it if at all possible. I’m planning to increase childcare benefits at my companies significantly.
Hopefully, other companies do same.
Also, Musk Foundation plans to donate directly to families.
Hopefully, details to be announced next month.

Currently, Tesla offers up to 16 weeks of leave for family members and covers up to $40,000 of fertility treatment. Advertisements for jobs at Neuralink also mention that they provide parental leave. However, it still needs to be made clear what specific benefits SpaceX and The Boring Company offer families.

Musk has previously discussed the falling birth rate issue and stated that it is the “biggest danger civilization faces by far.” He has been vocal about his concerns on this topic and has stated that his Musk Foundation will “donate directly to families” but did not provide further details on how this will be done.
We should be much more worried about population collapse

This announcement comes after tweets questioning the financial implications of having more than one child. Nick Cannon, who also has a growing family, even participated in the conversation. It is worth noting that Musk is the father of nine children himself.

It is still being determined if Musk will follow through on this promise, as he has made similar statements in the past. In the past, he pledged to donate money to Flint, Michigan, to assist residents with access to clean water.
Please consider this a commitment that I will fund fixing the water in any house in Flint that has water contamination above FDA levels. No kidding.

Also, he responded to Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s request to give over Starlink satellites during the Russian assault. While some of these promises have been fulfilled, others have not. It remains to be seen if Musk can fulfil his commitment to enhancing child benefits at his companies.
